Handler made the decision to pursue stand-up acting after she turned 21 after she realized her storytelling skills. Handler made her debut on her role on the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving Poorly which was a reality program with a hidden-camera/practical comedy. Between 2002 and 2005, the show aired. Handler then started appearing in other programs such as Weekends at the D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler also began working as an associate on The Tonight Show. Handler had her biggest break in 2006, as she took over hosting of E! known as The Chelsea Handler show. The show ran for two seasons.
